Kammerkonzert: 1933-1945

The chamber concert program complements the "Graphics for the Dictatorship" exhibition at Kunstmuseum Stuttgart, exploring art created during Germany's darkest period. It questions the possibilities of art under oppression, the fate of composers deemed degenerate or exiled, and the themes they tackled amidst censorship. It also examines the proximity of some artists to the regime, and how they may have benefited from it. Concert tickets are available from January 1, 2025.

Linie 2: Radiomusiken

The 1920s marked the beginning of radio broadcasting in Germany. The "Linie 2" program highlights this era of technological and musical innovation from nearly a century ago. Prominent composers created music for the radio without strict genre boundaries. Pavel Haas's "Radio Overture" and Hanns Eisler's piano song capture the significance of radio in different contexts. Works by Braunfels and Toch, commissioned by predecessors of WDR and SWR, also showcase the stylistic diversity of this period.
